On the Way

Lately I have been having many memories of my time last year in Spain on the Camino de Santiago. I had a very difficult time in Spain, and the memories are much fonder than I had expected them to be. I am very thankful for my time on the Camino, difficult though it was, for it carved out in my heart a desire, much deeper than I had ever known before, to seek the face of God and to truly know Him.

I think I am being given these memories now to give me hope amdist my present struggles and confusion. Hope that I will grow in unexpected ways in this time, as I did along the Camino. Hope that I will someday be thankful for this difficult time in the same way I am for that strange and beautiful time in Spain.

(In the Links column to the right, you will find a link to “Tom’s Travels.” This is the blog that Tom Byrne kept during his travels in Europe last summer. Tom was my ever faithful companion along the Camino, and you can learn about what we were up to on the Camino by reading what he wrote.

I kept a haphazard journal while on the Camino, and I am considering transcribing some of the entries to put up here.)
